Dr. Lisa Bolden
(Located in Los Angeles office only)
Dr. Lisa Bolden is a licensed psychologist with over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, where she counsels individuals, couples, families and groups. Her areas of specialty include mood and eating disorders, women’s and relationship issues, health psychology, trauma and Christian counseling.
As a veteran Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Bolden uses cutting-edge, research-backed therapy proven effective for a variety of emotional issues, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Prolonged Exposure for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder.
With an emphasis on healing communities of color, Dr. Bolden founded of Southern California African American Mental Health Professionals, a networking group that promotes collaboration to enhance the treatment, research, advocacy, and community mental health needs of African Americans. She currently consults with community-based agencies, parachurch organizations, and houses of worship.
Dr. Bolden earned (Psy.D.) and (M.A.) academic degrees in psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary, which emphasized brief, focused psychotherapy, including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and Christian counseling. She also earned a (M.A.) from Pepperdine University and a (B.A.) from UCLA.
For clients looking for Christian counseling, Dr. Bolden holds a Master's of Theology Degree with an emphasis in Spiritual Formation. This makes her uniquely suited to integrate psychotherapy with spirituality.
